Flowers

Tis the season of blooming! In our neck of the woods the trees have been bursting with color. Check out these simple ways to add magic to your flowering tree storytelling!

Layering:

The sheer size of tree branches set a perfect stage to create a sense of depth. Focus on an inner layer while allowing the foreground to frame, fill in and surround the scene.

Double Exposures:

Take a base image with negative space and shift the camera to fill in the other side (try a closer up view!)

Use a unique lens

Try out a funky lens - you can grab a vintage one (make sure you grab the proper adapter for your camera) or a lens with unique vibes such as Lensbaby to create a swirly or painterly feel.

Get Close:

The branches on flowering trees often hang low enough to capture right at eye level. Take the time to observe and capture the details.

Move!

Slow down your shutter speed and twist the camera to get a feel of breeze.

Use creative color

With the Lensbaby OMNI system you can add color and light by putting a variety of films or crystals in front of your lens. Prisms and other reflective surfaces work too! Get creative!
